How does this relate to our current criminology course?
At the moment we are studying theories of psychological explanations of crime , and our research links with these theories. Labelling theory- society develops a stigma for individuals that is difficult to reverse. Relation- drug use in school can cause a child to be labeled, and make it difficult for them to be seen as anything else. Concentric zone theory- highly transitional neighbourhoods experience high population turn over, cultural changes, and industrialization. Relation- Walnut grove has become a highly transient community, this may cause an increase of crime and drug rates.
