On April 22 we interviewed Constable Jarjoura about our topic. He believes the main cause for kids experimenting with drugs in school is peer pressure. He also said people may experiment because of mental issues like anxiety. Jarjoura said that the kids are getting the drugs from each other and people outside of school. He believes there is also a small percentage of students abusing prescription drugs. He said that the best way to deal with this problem is to educate students on the effects of drugs more. He said he doesn't think enough is being done to combat this problem. He thinks there should be someone at each school full time to educate students on drugs. Unlike our principal he does not think undercover officers would be a good idea. He also thinks the world is approaching drugs as a illness that needs to be treated.
